So Doing

Matthew 24:46

“Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.”

We would love to know when Jesus Christ will return. But since we can’t know the “day and hour” (Matthew 24:36), we must focus instead on what Christ told us to be doing in the meantime. Jesus compared His followers to servants awaiting the return of their master. The servants who are busy doing their jobs, caring for the household and providing food at the right time, will be rewarded!

(We will read about those who are not “so doing” in the Daily Bible Verse Blog post, “Delaying His Coming,” on Matthew 24:48.)

Christians are to be helping with God’s work of preaching the good news to the world, feeding the flock and growing in grace and knowledge of God’s truth.
