Even in the most difficult circumstances, with Absalom’s rebel army preparing to attack, David praised God for sustaining and protecting him. With his natural eyes he saw the ten thousands of enemies seeking to destroy him. But with the eyes of faith, David knew, as Paul later echoed, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31).
