Wind is used as a symbol of God’s Holy Spirit several times in the Bible (Ezekiel 37:9-14; John 3:8; 20:22). This powerful attention getter also reminds us of the strong wind that preceded God’s appearance to Elijah (1 Kings 19:11-12).
God used the sounds and lights and the miracle of languages mentioned in Acts 2:5-12 to draw large crowds to hear the powerful Pentecost sermon that Peter was about to preach.
