5 Encouraging Bible Verses About Peace

Our world is full of violence, and our daily lives can be marred by conflict and turmoil. But God promises His people a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Proverbs 16:7

“When a man’s ways please the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”

King Solomon probably wrote this in the 10th century B.C.

Isaiah 26:3

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

The prophet Isaiah recorded these words of encouragement from God in the eighth century B.C.

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Jesus Christ said this to encourage His disciples after His last Passover, the night before He died. The apostle John wrote this down perhaps around A.D. 90.

John 16:33

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Jesus Christ said this to encourage His disciples after His last Passover, the night before He died. The apostle John wrote this down perhaps around A.D. 90.

Philippians 4:6-7

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The apostle Paul wrote this to the Church of God in Philippi from prison, perhaps in the early A.D. 60s.
