Who Shall Separate Us?

Romans 8:35

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

All the things we fear—the worst troubles this world and Satan can throw at us—can’t fray the powerful spiritual bond of love that Christ has with His true followers. God’s love is sure and impervious to outside forces. He promises to never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5-6). Only we ourselves can sever the bond by willfully pushing Him away.

Though Christians must face persecution and tribulation in this life, the good news is that beyond all these troubles will be a time of peace and joy. Our loving God will wipe away all tears and welcome Christians into His family forever (Revelation 21:4, 7).
