The Wolf Also Shall Dwell With the Lamb

Isaiah 11:6-8

“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.”

After Jesus Christ’s second coming to set up the Kingdom of God on earth, peace will spread around this planet, and there will be a restoration of the utopian conditions of the Garden of Eden.

Not only will humans be at peace with each other, but the physical creation will be at peace as well. The predators will no longer endanger their former prey. It will take a miracle to transform meat eaters into plant eaters, but such miracles are promised by the One who created all the animals in the first place.

What child could resist the chance to have a lion for a pet? But the greater implication is that the most dangerous creature, man himself, will finally be tamed and learn the way of peace that God reveals.
