The Lord Is King Forever

Psalm 10:16-18

The LORD is King forever and ever; the nations have perished out of His land. LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear, to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may oppress no more.

During this evil age ( Galatians 1:4 ), oppressors have the upper hand, and the weak and defenseless have suffered great injustice and oppression. But Jesus Christ will return to this earth as King of the Kingdom of God and will turn things around. To God, a powerful human tyrant is nothing but a “man out of the earth. … He is but man that shall die, a son of man that shall be as grass?” (Matthew Henry’s Commentary, citing Isaiah 51:12 ).
