The Greatness of the Kingdoms Given to the Saints
Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.
When Jesus Christ returns, He will set up the everlasting Kingdom of God over the whole earth. During this life, His followers, the saints, learn by being “faithful over a few things” to become “ruler over many things” (Matthew 25:21; see also Luke 16:10).
True Christians are to learn to rule and serve following Jesus’ selfless example. As He told the disciples:
“You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them. … Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to be great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:25-28).
This kind of attitude will be part of a totally different government that will bring real peace and prosperity to this world at last. For more about the Kingdom of God, see our “Kingdom of God” section.
