The Days of the Upright
The LORD knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
God knows those who are striving to obey Him and do what is right, and He keeps track of them and all their days of service. He provides for their needs now in the midst of troubles, but that is nothing compared to what He has in store for them forever!
As commentator Matthew Henry wrote, “God takes cognizance of them, and gives them the blessings of every day in its day; but it was never intended that their inheritance should be confined within the limits of those days.” He wants to share His Kingdom with us forever!
