The Angel of the Lord Delivers

Psalm 34:7

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.

“The phrase the angel of the LORD and the name of God are often interchanged” (The Nelson Study Bible note on Psalm 34:4-7). Whether this is referring to God Himself or to God sending His holy angels, it is clear that God is near to those who fear Him. He provides protection and deliverance.

One of the things Jesus Christ told us to pray for was deliverance from the evil one (Matthew 6:13). For more about this, see the article “How to Pray.”
