Teaching Us That We Should Live Righteously
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
God’s gracious, merciful forgiveness, made possible by Christ’s sacrifice at His first coming (verse 14), teaches us what we should do as we wait for Christ’s second coming. We must avoid the temptations of this world, choosing instead to live and think the way God thinks. He teaches us how to think and act by giving us His laws for our benefit.
When Jesus Christ returns, He will return in power and glory. This is described in the articles in our section about the “Kingdom of God.”
