Taste and See

Psalm 34:8

Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

The things we learn come into our minds through the five senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. God often reminds us to use our eyes and our ears to learn about Him. Thomas was even encouraged to touch the wound in Christ’s side and the nail holes in His hands when he doubted (John 20:27).

Here David appeals to another of our senses, one that is greatly associated with enjoyment. We are to taste God’s goodness and grow in trust that God’s goodness will continue.
