Sustain Him in Sickness

Proverbs 18:14

The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?

The will to get well is vital in the healing process. Being positive, in good spirits and determined to get well can sustain us through many sicknesses.

But those who have a broken and defeated spirit, and especially those who have lost the will to live, have a much harder time recovering. A broken spirit is also much harder on the caregivers who greatly desire to see the person return to health.
