The LORD Is the Strength of My Life

Psalm 27:1

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When we were young and fearful of the dark, it would make all the difference if our parents or big brother was there to “protect us.” On a far grander scale, when we have the protection of the most powerful being in the universe, how can anything make us afraid?

God’s “light” delivers us from the darkness of this evil world. His strength saves us and alleviates our fears. We can entrust Him with our worries about our health, finances, needs and future. He cares for us and offers peace that surpasses all understanding to guard our hearts and minds (1 Peter 5:7; Philippians 4:6-7).
