Power to My Two Witnesses
“But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
During the final 3½ years of human misrule on this earth, gentiles (those not of Israelite descent) will rule over Jerusalem. During the same time, God promises that His two witnesses will carry His message to a world fully in the sway of Satan.
God will give His servants power similar to what He gave other great servants, such as Moses and Elijah. They will use this power to protect themselves and to boldly preach God’s message. But these things will not make them popular with the people of the world. In fact, when God allows them to be killed after the 3½ years, people will celebrate—but not for long! After 3½ days, God will resurrect them.
