Pleasures Forevermore
You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

King David knew the lows of trials and persecution, but he also understood the incredible promises of God. God’s way of life is the path that leads to real life—eternal life. Even in this life, God’s “path of life” opens up a fullness of life that only the spiritually wise can achieve. As Christ said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10; see “Life More Abundantly”).
And beyond this life, what greater wonder can we even hope to imagine than the opportunity to share “pleasures forevermore” in a close relationship with our great Creator God!
The apostle Peter quoted this passage in Acts 2:28. This was a part of his powerful sermon on Pentecost that led to the baptism of 3,000 people and the beginning of the New Testament Church.
