No Schism in the Body

1 Corinthians 12:25

That there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.

The apostle Paul continued his analogy comparing the human body to the Church of God (see “Set in the Body as He Pleased”). In 1 Corinthians 12:21 he again showed how the human body is interdependent; each part needs the rest of the body. “And the eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you’; nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.’”

Even the humble members, like the “weaker,” “less honorable” or “unpresentable parts” of the body, are given “greater honor” by God (verses 22-24). He gives this honor that there should be no divisions in the body, “that the members should have the same care for one another.”
