No One Knows

Matthew 24:36

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.”

The question the disciples asked Jesus at the beginning of Matthew 24 was, “When will these things be?” (verse 3). That was a natural question for them to want an answer to, and it has been a natural question down through the centuries. We desperately want Jesus Christ to return, and we want to know when He will come.

But Jesus did not give them a precise answer, and He does not give us one either. We must constantly be watchful of our own spiritual state and of the state of the world. We must not fall for human predictions and calculations that end up disappointing and leading people away from Christ.

But we can be sure that Jesus Christ will return! His second coming is sure, and it is the ultimate good news! Read more about it in our article “End of the World—Why It’s Good News!”
