Marriage Is Honorable

Hebrews 13:4

Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

Sex sells, and it seems the more perverse and tawdry the sex, the more interest it generates. Base and animalistic behavior has degraded the whole concept of sex, which God created to be a pure, undefiled, intimate relationship within marriage.

Sexual intimacy within marriage is designed to help bind a husband and wife into a beautiful, honorable, permanent relationship that God calls being “one flesh” (Matthew 19:4-6). Premarital and extramarital sex damage the marriage relationship God intended, and so God will judge fornicators and adulterers.

Married couples must work to keep the filth and shame of the world’s views of sex from infecting their marriage and instead strive to give honor to our spouse in the marriage relationship.
