Many Are Your Wonderful Works

Psalm 40:5

Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

David recognized that God’s actions and His thoughts toward us are innumerable. That doesn’t mean we should not, as one hymn states, “count” our blessings or recount His wonderful provisions to us personally and toward mankind in His plan of salvation! But we must realize that our great God’s thoughts are far above us, and He loves us more than we can know.

We, like David and Jesus, must appreciate and thank God the Father for all He does, delighting to do His will (Psalm 40:8; Hebrews 10:4-6).
