And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
If we stub our toe, our whole body is affected by the pain! The body now takes extra care to protect it from further hurts.
The apostle Paul uses this fact to remind the members of the Body of Christ that we should look out for and nurture other Church members who are suffering. Also, Church members are given the blessing to be able to rejoice with other members when they are honored. This unity and empathy helps members of the Church grow to show love as God does.
