I Will Give You Rest

Matthew 11:28

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Humanity has suffered under bondage to Satan, sin and guilt (Romans 6:16-21). Jesus Christ offered the way to freedom from slavery to Satan. Through His sacrifice, He made possible the forgiveness of our sin and removal of our guilt. He offers peace of mind, which gives us spiritual rest.

Living by God’s beneficial way of life is the antidote to the destructive yoke of sin. Jesus said His “yoke is easy” and His “burden is light” (Matthew 11:30). For more on this passage, see “‘My Yoke Is Easy’: Is Being a Christian Easy or Hard?
