I Have Overcome the World

John 16:33

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

On the night before His dreadful crucifixion, Jesus Christ showed His love for His disciples and His followers in all ages. In spite of the tribulations Christians experience, He wants us to have peace and encouragement.

He overcame this world and its evil ruler. He did not give in to any of Satan’s persistent temptations. He was the pioneer, showing us the way out of bondage to Satan and sin. His sacrifice allows us to be forgiven and receive the Holy Spirit to help us also overcome the world.
