Proverbs 18:22  

He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the LORD (Proverbs 18:22).
The Eternal God is the Creator of marriage, and He designed it to be a blessing. In Genesis 2 God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him. … Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (verses 18 and 24).

The apostle Paul added, “He who loves his wife loves himself” (Ephesians 5:28). A wife is a wonderful gift from God and a blessing to the husband, and he must seek to love her and be a blessing to her as well. For ideas, see “How to Be a Good Husband.”
