God’s Book of Remembrance

Malachi 3:16

Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the LORD and who meditate on His name.

God pays attention to what His people do, and He remembers our good deeds and words. He notes our words of fellowship and support. He notices when we meditate on His greatness and show respect and healthy fear of Him and His beneficial law. (To learn more about what God is looking for, see “What Does the Fear of the Lord Mean?” and “What Is Meditation?”)

What a comforting thought that God has a book of remembrance! What an encouragement to strive to do things worthy of being recorded in that book.
