Christ: King of Kings

Revelation 19:16

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Jesus Christ came as a suffering Servant and a Lamb for the slaughter at His first coming (Isaiah 52:13-15; 53:1-7).

Yet at His second coming, Christ will come as a conquering King and the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Revelation 5:5; 11:15). “KING OF KINGS means the One who is supreme over all earthly rulers” (The Nelson Study Bible, comment on Revelation 19:16). He will rule with power, but with true justice, mercy and love.
