“After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; so that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the LORD who does all these things.”
At the historic Jerusalem conference of Acts 15, James summed up the conclusions of the conference. In this passage, James quotes from Amos 9:11-12 to prove that God’s plan includes the gentiles as well as the descendants of Israel.
“I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David” is a prophecy of Jesus Christ’s second coming, when He will rule on the throne of David (Luke 1:32). All people, not just the tribes of Israel, will be blessed by Jesus Christ’s righteous rule.
