A Long and Satisfying Life

Proverbs 3:1-2

My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you.

In the context, the law and commands mentioned here are not just a father’s arbitrary rules, but reflect God’s laws and commandments. These God-given principles, when remembered and acted on, ultimately produce the blessings God wants for us: “a long and satisfying life” (New Living Translation).

In this world, God’s people experience God’s joy in the midst of trials, but the ultimate blessing will be eternal life in God’s peaceful Kingdom.
