A Forgiving God

Psalm 130:4

But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.

In Psalm 130:3, we saw that if God kept track of our sins, we would be found guilty many times over. Yet this verse shows that God is merciful, offering forgiveness in spite of our shortcomings.

It is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that God’s forgiveness is possible. God grants forgiveness when we acknowledge our shortcomings to Him and show by our actions that we want to do what is right (Luke 3:8).

Christians are reminded of this truth every year at the Passover ceremony. It is important that we never lose sight of our need for God’s forgiveness and properly fear Him as a result.
