Work and Be Happy

Psalm 128:2

When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

One of the blessings in life we should be thankful for is the ability to work. Though many people dislike their jobs, the Bible teaches that we should get satisfaction out of working and having the ability to be financially self-reliant. Proverbs 10:4 tells us that “he who has a slack [lazy] hand becomes poor.” Poverty does not bring happiness.

God wants us to be happy and lead a fulfilling life (Psalm 146:5; John 10:10) and gives us many keys to personal happiness. One of those keys is productivity! The more productive we are as human beings, the happier we will be.
