What Do Holy Angels Do?

Hebrews 1:14

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

Over the last week we have looked at scriptures that described the evil angels who rebelled against God and became known as Satan the devil and the demons.

But a vast multitude of angels remained faithful to God and are shown in many places in the Bible serving God and praising Him.

The first chapter of Hebrews makes the point that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is exalted above the angels. He created them and is worshipped by them.

But the holy angels are magnificent beings who fulfill a great purpose. Amazingly, their purpose is not just to serve the Creator God, but to also serve the human beings He has created to be saved and to receive eternal life in His family. This highlights the awesome potential God has in store for us, since even the powerful angels are given the job of ministering to us.

God does not want us to worship angels (Colossians 2:18), but we can be thankful to God for the service they give us.
